Motorcycle or motorcycle (also known simply as Motoca, bike or motorcycle ) is a motor vehicle two-wheel and rear-wheel drive – with few exceptions – be able to develop speed cruise safely and comfortably. It is a widely used means of transport due to its lower fuel consumption and its more affordable price than most cars. However, there are motorcycles that consume more fuel than many cars, varying, among other factors, with engine displacement.
In addition to a means of transportation, the motorcycle can be used for areas such as sports ( Superbike, Motocross, Supermoto and Rally ), leisure ( Motoclube ), utility ( Motoboy ) and as a military vehicle.
There are specific techniques for riding a motorcycle of whatever type, model or terrain. Proper safety equipment is indispensable, some of which are mandatory, such as a helmet.
To drive a motorcycle in Brazil, you must be at least 18 years old and have an “A” National Driver’s License (CNH).
In Portugal, under the Law, motorcycles are classified into two categories:
Motorcycles: motorcycles capable of speeds exceeding 45 km / h or with a cylinder capacity exceeding 50 cc;
Mopeds: Bikes with a displacement of less than 50 cc that only allow speeds up to 45 km / h.
Motorcycles are divided into two subcategories according to engine capacity: 50 cc or less.
In Brazil, up to 50 cc and 50 km / h top speed, an authorization is required, called “ACC” (which is little used because the procedure and the cost is the same as the normal license), for larger bikes, it is necessary if you are over 18, have a license, helmet.
